Adoptions

When you’re interested in one of our dogs please come to our animal rescue center during the visiting hours. Here you will receive further information on the dog and we will also fully explain to you the details of our adoption process.

Please understand that if you do wish to adopt, we will ask you to sign an agreement and pay a reasonable adoption fee.

The agreement lists the requirements necessary for the adoption; and that you as the new owner of the animal are offering it a home for the rest of its life, but our organization will continue to hold the right of possession of the dog. This is for the protection of the dog and assures us that all laws are obeyed, an example of which being the „microchip-implant“ which is now a legal requirement. We also make it completely clear to new owners that A.P.A.D. makes unannounced visits to the new home to see that the dog is being kept as agreed.

The adoption fee for the adopted dog is to replace some of the costs we have paid out for medical costs while the dog was in our care. At the same time this fee protects the dog from being adopted by an unscrupulous person who could then resell it for a profit.

All of our dogs have had a thorough health check by our veterinarian and to the best of our knowledge are healthy when given up for adoption. The vets visit us regularly at the animal center and make sure that all of our animals have the optimal veterinary care. If there is an illness or any other known medical problem with the dog you are interested in, we will discuss it with you in detail before you make your decision. All of our dogs that are given up for adoption must have the chip implant and are in possession of a European Pet Passport.

It would make us very happy if you would consider giving one of the dogs from A.P.A.D. a new home.
