We need the help of all friends of animals. People who feel as we do, that every animal has the right to respect and to be cared for. You don’t always have to give money. You can help us by donating things we need or can sell at the flea markets; or you can donate your time. Whatever you do to help us is so that we in turn can help the dogs. THANK YOU.

Volunteers

We need volunteers who will be able to help us regularly with cleaning. The runs and kennels are cleaned twice a day. The animals are then given food, fresh water and medication when necessary.

                    Dog walking

Some of the dogs are able to be kept in groups in a fenced in area. Others that are kept in individual pens are put into the runs twice a day. Even so, every dog is happier when it gets the chance to go for a walk outside of the Animal Shelter. Dog walkers are always greeted passionately. This is a great alternative if you’re not able to keep a dog yourself. Just come during the visiting hours.

Foster care

We are constantly looking for foster homes for ill or older animals, for puppies or for other animals that aren’t strong enough to handle living in the animal shelter and need a personal touch. Foster homes can be for long term care, an example being older animals without much hope of adoption. An alternative is short term care, for puppies or young dogs until a new home is found. The costs for the care of these animals will be taken over by the A.P.A.D..

Help us in other ways

Help support us at the Monday market in Dénia or at the flea markets. You can also help by attending the „Fiesta day“ we hold 3 or 4 times a year at the Animal Shelter.

Handymen welcome

Maintenance of the Animal Shelter buildings, it’s grounds, lawn mowing, painting, renovating the dog runs, tiling the kennels, etc.

Material donations

We are thankful for dog bowls, leashes, collars, blankets, food, flea collars, toys, chewy bones, etc. And we’re also thankful for any building materials you can give.

Handicrafts and flea market items

Any of your handicraft articles or unwanted items (in good condition) can be brought to our A.P.A.D. Secondhand Shop, Calle San Antonio 1, Jalon (near the CAM Bank) or directly to the shelter here in Dénia.
